...I let myself be in the room with just him and he ended up pinning me down and telling me that he could do whatever he wanted with me and there would not be anything that I could do about it. He threatened me and it scared me. I truly believed that he could and I couldn't do anything. I changed that day. I guarded myself from him in different way...
When I started the self-defense class I realized how in power I really was and I saw the value of the class. It gave me an outlet that I really needed as well.
I do want to thank you for the opportunity that you have given me to explain why I support Tigress and the feeling of knowing that I have strength in physically that can support the strength I have found this last year mentally and emotionally. - Anonymous
Tigress Women’s Self Defense recently came to our worksite and did am hour long self-defense class to about 30 of our women employees. Doug did a great job alternating between having the women partner up and practice actual self-defense techniques and then answering questions. He made sure to gear the class towards what the women of our particular class needs and questions were. He gave very simple yet effective guidelines and suggestions on how to best defend yourself. Doug was very professional and quick to get back with me to get the class set up. He showed up on time and did a great job getting the classes attention. We definitely are hoping to have him back to teach our employees again.
I had a women just comment the other day that after that class she was asked for money in the zupas parking lot in West Valley. She simply put her hand up and said stop really loud. A passing car saw her and stopped to make sure everything was okay. The man backed off and started riding his bike around the parking lot. The car that stopped made sure this employee made it into her car and even followed her out of the parking lot to make sure she ended up getting out of their in safety. - Lauren, Usana Health Sciences
I love the idea of empowering and strengthening women.
Teaching them self defense is not only strengthening but life saving.
I met a woman while in college who was walking home and was confronted and attacked by a strange man. His intention was to rape her and who knows what else. She fought with all of her life and what ended up saving her were her sharp long fingernails. If she hadn't of had those nails, who know what may have happened.
This woman was lucky. Everyday situations come up where women will need to defend themselves from either strangers, partners or spouses.
The fact that Tigress is offering these life saving skills for free is outstanding.
I was asked just the other day by a mom friend if I knew of any self defense classes in Austin and I didn't know of a single one!
I would love to see Tigress grow and be available to women all over the U.S.
I'm hoping my support to Tigress will help keep the classes free and hopefully spread the word around Utah that this is available to all women. - Britt
Since I have started taken the classes I have noticed in difference in myself but not just me my family and friends have to. My Husband has told me that I look more confident but he can tell I feel more confident. and he can see how I hold myself different also. - Nikki
